چکیده
High temperature oxidation behavior of CrMnFeCoNi high-entropy alloy was investigated in oxygen at 600-1100°C by thermogravimetric technique. The composition each element is 20 at% an experimental alloy. Oxidation rates observed mass change measurement were generally smaller comparison to those single element. values gains slight larger against pure Ni or Ni-based superalloys the same temperatures oxygen. Mass gain curves almost obeyed on parabolic rate law, and had magnitudes as increased. X-ray diffraction analysis revealed that scale formed alloys consisted Mn2O3 Cr2O3. Although Mn originally has a rate, relatively small because protective nature Fe-Cr spinel oxide film. One reasons considered from viewpoint thermodynamics Cr have negative Gibbs free energy reaction among five elements

High pressure synthesis of a hexagonal close-packed phase of the high-entropy alloy CrMnFeCoNi
High-entropy alloys, near-equiatomic solid solutions of five or more elements, represent a new strategy for the design of materials with properties superior to those of conventional alloys. However, their phase space remains constrained, with transition metal high-entropy alloys exhibiting only face- or body-centered cubic structures. Here, we report the high-pressure synthesis of a hexagonal c...
متن کاملNanoscale origins of the damage tolerance of the high-entropy alloy CrMnFeCoNi
Damage tolerance can be an elusive characteristic of structural materials requiring both high strength and ductility, properties that are often mutually exclusive. High-entropy alloys are of interest in this regard. Specifically, the single-phase CrMnFeCoNi alloy displays tensile strength levels of ∼ 1 GPa, excellent ductility (∼ 60-70%) and exceptional fracture toughness (KJIc>200 MPa√m). Here...
متن کاملHigh Temperature Oxidation and Corrosion Properties of High Entropy Superalloys
The present work investigates the high temperature oxidation and corrosion behaviour of high entropy superalloys (HESA). A high content of various solutes in HESA leads to formation of complex oxides, however the Cr and Al activities of HESA are sufficient to promote protective chromia or alumina formation on the surface. By comparing the oxidation and corrosion resistances of a Ni-based supera...
متن کاملHigh Temperature Oxidation Behaviour of Nimonic - 115 Alloy in Presence of Sodium Salts at 850OC
The high temperature oxidation behaviour of Nimonic-115 industrial alloy has been investigated in presence of NaNO3, Na2CO3 and Na2O2 at 850oC in flowing air. The oxidation kinetics and effect of salt deposition for the period of 48 h were studied. The scale morphologies were determined on the basis of X-ray diffraction anal...
متن کاملHigh Temperature Behavior of Dual Phase Steels
Dual phase steels with different martensite volume fraction and morphology were tensile tested at a temperature range of 25 to 5500C. Stress-strain curves of all steels showed serration flow at temperatures of 250 and 3500C, and smooth flow at the other temperatures. Both yield and ultimate tensile strengths increased with increasing testing temperature up to about 450<sup...
